Marc has spent most of his 16+ year career in taxation serving small business and middle market clients at Top 10 accounting firms. He has had the pleasure of assisting companies at various stages of their lifecycle including the startup, growth, established, expansion, maturity and exit stages. Tom has focused in providing tax planning, consulting and preparation services for high-net-worth individuals and clients within the consumer product and real estate industries. His real estate expertise includes owners, developers, real estate managers and other real estate firms. Tom has the skills to alleviate the burden of tax compliance and tax planning from his clients, while presenting and enforcing the most tax effective strategy available. Lori has been a Certified Public Accountant and a trusted advisor to her clients for over 25 years with a Bachelor’s degree in financial accounting and a Master’s degree in taxation. She has helped thousands of clients throughout her career and helped to grow their business and personal portfolios while mitigating tax liabilities and building lasting relationships with her clients. Lori is a Certified QuickBooks Advanced ProAdvisor (Desktop and Online). Lori prides herself on her responsiveness and unique problem-solving strategies.
Maria has provided a value unparalleled to SMG and her clients. She possesses hard work ethics, care, and passion which translates into a larger part of the firm's and client's overall success. Although her tasks can be difficult and voluminous, she takes on the firm's and client's goals as her own and displays an admirable level of professionalism and determination. Since the pandemic started, Maria has overseen the SBA/IRS relief programs which has brought significant financial assistance to many businesses. Maria earned a MS in Taxation from Old Westbury.
Bettina is responsible for managing and overseeing the Firm’s operations. She is also responsible for the development and implementation of processes that ensures the efficiency and viability of the Firm. Bettina is an integral part of the SMG’s management team, ensuring client expectations and project deadlines are appropriately met. In addition to monitoring the day-to-day operations, Bettina also handles the Firm’s billing and finances. Bettina holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Hofstra University.
Danielle oversees the day-to-day activities of the SMG and ensures the Firm is performing efficiently and effectively. She is responsible for the development of long-term operational strategies, collaborating with vendors and driving performance improvement processes. Danielle facilitates quality operations and client service, inspiring staff to strive for excellence in all they do. She is an integral part of the Firm’s expansion and works closely with leadership to ensure the smooth-running, profitable operations of the Firm.
Tiffany partners with the leadership team to drive the Firm’s strategic human resources initiatives. With almost 15 years’ human resources experience in the services sector, Tiffany has extensive experience in employee relations, recruiting, benefits administration and organizational development. Prior to joining SMG, she managed the human resources function for small to mid-size firms in the accounting industry. Tiffany is professionally certified in human resources and has served as a board member for the Long Island chapter of the Society for Human Resources Management.
Cynthia joined the SMG team 4 years ago as a Bookkeeper. She has over 10 years experience working in Office Management where she grew the skills necessary to understand the discipline of managing the operations of a business. Her passion to learn, overall care for the clients, team and the overall goals of the firm have led to her advancement as Bookkeeping Supervisor. Cynthia is a team leader, she makes sure everyone is productive and she cares for everyone’s wellbeing. Phillip earned a Bachelor’s degree in accounting and a Master’s degree in accounting with a concentration in taxation from Florida State University. He enjoys making a meaningful impact through his client relationships while implementing tax and accounting planning strategies.
