At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, opening a business during this time was proven to be no easy feat. Limited income as a result led to the stunted growth of small and micro-businesses. As such business owners are still recovering in a post-pandemic economy and getting back to normalcy, plans to provide financial aid were recently announced by New York Governor Kathy Hochul.

With the launch of the newest Seed Funding Grant Program, early-stage businesses are now able to apply to receive flexible grants to ensure they will have the support needed to continue building their business for years to come. This program was designed with the intent to financially aid all New York State small businesses, micro-businesses, and for-profit independent arts and cultural organizations that were affected by the recent pandemic.

All eligibility for these granted funds is determined based specific business criteria, as released by New York State. With state funding expected to wind down by the end of the month, the application portal is currently processing all submissions through the deadline of September 30th at 5:00pm.
